OnePlus 5 receives Android 8.1 Oreo

Great news for OnePlus 5 owners, particularly those who have enrolled in the beta program. It appears the latest open beta update released by OnePlus provides Android 8.1 Oreo, along with some additional new functions and improvements.

For example there exists a new auto pick up gesture available to OnePlus 5 customers as well as a new option that allows them to answer an incoming call by raising the phone.

Furthermore, the update adds more clock styles for ambient display and new optimizations in video gaming mode for immersive video gaming encounters such as power saving and pausing adaptive brightness.

More importantly, the update includes the February security patch and a new version of the OnePlus Switch app that now allows customers to migrate app data, thus enabling them to switch in between products much easier.

Finally, the recognized changelog mentions OxygenOS Open up Beta 6 provides some general bug fixes and enhancements although no additional particulars are offered. Keep in mind that you’ll receive the update as OTA (over the air) if you have currently flashed another OxygenOS beta build.
