LG today released Wallet – a new Android app presented as a
“secure mobile payment application for LG’s premium mobile handsets
What’s really fascinating concerning this app is that, according to its explanation it can be used only on an LG G7 (at least at this moment).
Of course an LG G7 doesn’t exist yet, or not commercially anyway. We are expecting a G7 to be introduced in the coming months (as a successor to final year’s G6), but the device will likely be released under a different title as LG is looking to refresh its flagship telephone identifying scheme. Most probably, the explanation of LG Wallet will be soon updated, or the app is going to be drawn from Google Play altogether, being re-launched only after LG’s upcoming flagship handset is announced.
Right now, the LG Wallet app doesn’t really work, but you might be able to install it on telephones like the LG V30 – check out the source link beneath to obtain it.
By the appears of it, LG Wallet will replace the already-available LG Pay service (the new app’s Google Play icon actually reads LG Pay instead of Wallet).
We’ll find out more concerning LG Wallet and the G7 (or what ever its final title turns out to be) once the new smarttelephone is officially announced. Most probably, LG will unveil its next-gen handset in late February at MWC 2018.
